Gucci to Allow Its Customers to Purchase Goods Using Shiba Inu (SHIB) Later this Month

Following its popularity, many businesses have begun to incorporate Shiba Inu.

Gucci, a prominent fashion luxury company, has announced that Shiba Inu will be accepted in five of its US stores later this month, in an interesting move.

According to a recent Vogue Business story, the five selected Gucci boutiques are Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, Wooster Street in New York, Phipps Plaza in Atlanta, Miami Design District, and The Shops at Crystals in Las Vegas.

The program, which will begin as a test at the end of this month, will be expanded to all of Gucci's North American stores in the summer of 2022.

While the test program is set to launch later this month, Gucci has stated that owners of two of its non-fungible token (NFT) project developers, SuperGucci and Gucci Grail, would be given priority in preordering Gucci collections via Shiba Inu before the service goes public.

Gucci's president and CEO, Marco Bizzarri, commented on the development, saying that the luxury house is always on the lookout for new technology that would improve its customers' experience.

Bizzarri added: “Now that we are able to integrate cryptocurrencies within our payment system, it is a natural evolution for those customers who would like to have this option available to them.”

Other Cryptocurrencies to be Supported by Gucci

Notably, Shiba Inu will not be the only cryptocurrency supported by Gucci's future pilot program. Gucci plans to integrate more than ten digital currencies into its payment system later this month, according to the article.

Bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin cash (BCH), ethereum (ETH), litecoin (LTC), dogecoin (DOGE), wrapped bitcoin (WBTC), and five stablecoins are among the cryptocurrencies.

Shiba Inu Adoption is Growing

Despite its inception in August 2020, Shiba Inu has grown in popularity, prompting it to be added to a variety of trade platforms, as well as online and physical retailers.

Shiba Inu fans may use the cryptocurrency to buy sandwiches and burgers from a restaurant in Naples that is styled after the digital currency, according to reports.

Equinox Global, meanwhile, announced Monday that residents of New York can use cryptocurrency to pay for exercise services.
